How Oriental Medicine Has Helped Mihdi
Born in 1997, undergoing surgery for a congenital heart disorder and diagnosed with fluid on his brain as an infant, and then diagnosed with Progressive Kyphoscoliosis in 1999 and a failure to thrive, Mihdi Brock is alive and thriving today thanks to alternatives to the Western medical approach, primarily Oriental medicine. What are the measurements that show his progress? Can it be anticipated that others with any number of various disorders and conditions could expect similar results?
Well, the fact is that Mihdi has made enormous progress over these years when it was felt by the Western doctors from his early years that he might not walk, or talk, indeed that he might not survive after his 10th birthday.
Medical reports based on periodic x-rays, MRIs and CAT-scans are available for the perusal of medical professionals who might be interested in reviewing these materials in the interest of pursuing alternative modes of treatment for their patients.
        While
Dr. Boalin Wu, the imminent Doctor of Oriental medicine who is Mihdi's primary treating doctor describes Mihdi's condition as being a "very complicated case," and he says that "there are very few human beings with as complicated a condition," we can see from the photo collection below the amazing distance that Mihdi has come under Dr. Wu's care.

Physical therapies that are practised throughout the day, each and every day, work hand-in-hand with acupuncture treatments and herbal therapies, each one being a very important component of the treatment program.
It is hard work for Mihdi to get his homework done, but he does it. While he is still working below grade level for his age, he is learning and making remarkable progress. Dr. Wu addresses brain function in his treatments.

Crawling and working on the parallel bars are important physiotherapy activities for Mihdi.
Now in October 2011, at 14-1/2, Mihdi is still working hard at therapies and attending daily treatments with Dr. Wu. While very small for his age, he has grown to 4' 6' and weighs 63.4 lbs at this writing. School work remains extremely challenging, but he is alive and growing as a person. He has started his own neighbourhood car wash business as a way to contribute to his daily life that he works at when he has a few moments between treatments, therapies and school, and when there is a chance for downtime, it often includes one of his favourite pastimes - remote controlled cars and airplanes.
